Themes of 2019:
Big Data refers to the analysis of large data sets to reveal patterns and trends, creating new business opportunities and smarter societal solutions. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the next generation of computerization. Big Data and AI are becoming increasingly integrated. While potential benefits are high, solutions need to address concerns over privacy and security.
The Internet of Things enables physical devices to collect and exchange data in an automated way. Typically, the devices are embedded with electronics, software, sensors, actuators, and network conductivity. The HTS 2018 will devote special attention to food and health cases and also to safe, ethical and socially responsible IoT solutions
The main theme for High Tech Summit is digitization and digital transformation, which are the corner stones in DTU’s research. This year’s special focus area for High Tech Summit will be sustainability with a focus on energy, environment and climate. At DTU, we have an extensive focus on the area and High Tech Summit is a natural place to showcase it.
While new potent technology is the very visible side of the fourth industrial revolution, innovative thinking within a given company is just as important. Corporations looking to get onboard Industry 4.0 need to assure that their organization is ready for the digital transformation.
The fourth industrial revolution not only calls for new solutions within existing companies, but also promise vast opportunities for creating new companies tailor made for the digital future.
The United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) lay out the biggest global challenges such as health threats, food and water scarcity, discrimination and poverty. Technological development in collaboration between research and business is key to meeting these goals.
MyData 2019 conference is a place for accelerating global change towards a human-centric approach to personal data. On 25-27 September 2019, some 1000 experts from business, legal, tech and society sectors will gather for the fourth time in Helsinki, with the focus on how to effect the change we need.
In times of ever-increasing use and misuse of personal data, we need better and more human-centric ways of doing things with that data. We need more transparent, trustworthy and actionable solutions for a more sustainable and prosperous digital society.
Organised in Wanha Satama in central Helsinki, the Conference provides 2+1 days of interactive sessions, networking opportunities and inspirations that shall contribute to rebuilding trust and creating more transparent and prosperous digital society.
MyData 2019 Conference is an associated event of Finland’s EU Presidency.

The Nordic Region is known for the so-called Nordic model (or Nordic capitalism), in which comprehensive welfare states and progressive societies go hand in hand with free market and trade, and provide for a high standard of living. The Nordics also are renown for housing leading players in numerous business areas, such as food, high tech, medical / life sciences, design and oil. Last not least, the region stands as a model for sustainable development and
for work-life balance.
To facilitate continued innovation and growth of start-ups Nordic governments strive to support entrepreneurship. EU’s Digital Economy and Society Index (DESI) 2018 (https://ec.europa.eu/digital-single-market/en/desi) has Denmark as the front runner followed by Sweden and Finland. Headed by Denmark the Nordic countries form the most digital region in the EU. Copenhagen is, thus, the perfect venue to explore how digitalisation already has disrupted and will further affect various business sectors – and for asking what role the human factor will have in the post-digitalised business world and society.
As in the past, the Conference will combine lively panel discussions lead by entrepreneurs and industry speakers with interactive workshops on practice areas of general interest.
Topics will include:
The legendary ‘Closely Held’ spirit and social events will provide, once again, for an unforgettable networking experience.
